Last Sunday night was surely fun and romantic for me and my husband Ed as we again had a date night at home with a good movie. After searching in our limited downloaded movie library for something fun and simple, we found The Pleasure of Your Company a.k.a. The Wedding Daze starring Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher.
Here’s a summary of the plot – I won’t spoil the entire movie for you.
Anderson (Jason Biggs) lost his girlfriend after a shocking and unexpected proposal. After a year of great remorse, he found himself proposing to an unknown waitress, Katie (Isla Fisher), who previously was also proposed to the other night but is left with much confusion. Katie accepted Anderson’s sudden proposal and decided to get things faster by moving in together the same day. Lots of hilarious twists and turns happened for several days which basically ended in true love and bliss.
What I love about the movie is the unexpected events which turn out to be romantic and exciting. It is actually a simple movie however I find it rare than most romantic comedies I used to watch. I guess I can imagine someone heartbroken suddenly proposing to a stranger but I find it rare that that person will immediately accept the stranger’s proposal. Well, that’s the beauty of movies and perhaps it does happen to some people, without us knowing of course.
Anyhow, if you love romantic comedies but love to see a story unlike other stories, The Pleasure of Your Company is a recommendation.
What other romantic comedies to you find interesting? Love t
